A new poll from Baselice Associates shows that Texas Republicans are sick of addiction profiteers getting rich off their kids and communities. Which means that Gov. Greg Abbott was on the wrong side of his own party AND public health and safety when he vetoed Senate Bill 3, which would have banned these dangerous drugs.
The toplines?
72% of GOP voters who voted in last three primary elections support banning THC
63% of GOP voters oppose Governor Abbott’s proposal to regulate THC
A majority of Republicans strongly support banning THC
Those numbers show that if Abbott doesn’t do the right thing this time when the new version of this bill lands on his desk, he’ll be kicking his fellow GOPers to the curb and making Texas a sicker, more dangerous state.
Is that Lone Star Leadership? Sounds more like Yellow-Bellied Varmintism to us . . . .
