Ever heard of cannabis hyperemesis syndrome (CHS)?
Don’t be shocked if you haven’t. The marijuana indsutry does everything it can to conceal this horrible side effect of using weed. It’s when prolonged use of the drug results in cyclical vomiting episodes and intense abdominal pain.
And thanks to the valiant efforts of America’s weed normalizers and legalizers, CHS rates are SKYROCKETING among kids.
Researchers from Boston Children’s Hospital and Harvard University looked at CHS emregency room admissions from 2016 to 2023.
Guess what they found?
They increased more than 10 fold at a hideous 49% per year:
From 2016 through 2023, CHS encounters among 13- to 21-year-olds increased by 49% per year, from 160.4 per million ED visits in 2016 to 1,968.3 per million in 2023, reported Michael Toce, MD, MS, of Boston Children’s Hospital, and colleagues.
CHS is obviously comnnected to higher rates of longer term weed use. And higher frequency of weed is are connected to legal weed and dispensary presence. Which means that people who push for the legalization and commercialization are actively driving a horrible illness among a vulnerable population (and it’s not just kids).
The science gets clearer every day: Marijuana is making kids and families and communities sicker and sicker, by measure after measure after measure.
It’s enough to make you puke.
