According to the National Survey on Drug Use and Health, the average number of days of use among past-year marijuana users aged 12 or older increased from 148.1 days in 2024 to 154.2 days in 2025, up from 144.8 days in 2021. Likewise, the percentage of past-year marijuana users that met the threshold for being daily or almost daily users in the past year––defined as using marijuana on 300 or more days––increased from 26.4% in 2024 to 27.4% in 2025. Marijuana users are using the intoxicating drug more heavily, which threatens their health and the well-being of those around them.
