Kevin Sabet’s new piece explains why there is no real upside of moving marijuana into Schedule III for anyone except the fat cats of Big Weed–while there are significant downsides for basically everyone else.

“President Donald Trump… will decide ‘over the next few weeks’ whether to ease federal restrictions on marijuana.… doing so would be a deadly mistake.”

‘Why would it be deadly?’ Well, here’s why:

“Rescheduling would deliver a massive handout to the marijuana industry.”

‘That doesn’t sound deadly.’ Wait for it…

Rescheduling would “[make] it easier for weed retailers to advertise will almost certainly increase the industry’s reach, particularly among young Americans… “Among teens, marijuana use drives up the risk of suicidal ideation by 46 percent and suicide attempts by 85 percent.”

‘Oh… Ok.’ Yup…
